General questions
What exactly does BillEase do?
We are a bill-negotiation service. You send us a recurring bill, and our team of trained negotiators calls your provider on your behalf to get the rate lowered. You keep the same service, same plan, and same provider — just at a lower price.
Is this legal?
Yes, completely. Negotiating bills is a normal customer right — you have every legal right to ask your provider for a better rate. We just do it professionally on your behalf, the same way a tax preparer files your taxes on your behalf.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no login, no password, no portal. You just submit your bill through our form and we contact you by phone. Everything happens by email or phone call — no app to install, no account to manage.
Can I do this myself?
Absolutely. Everything we do, you could do yourself with enough time and patience. We just save you the hours on hold, the awkward conversations, and the uncertainty — and we have leverage from doing this thousands of times.
Pricing & fees
How much do you charge?
30% of the savings we secure for you in your first 12 months. So if we save you $100/month, your annual savings is $1,200 and our fee is $360 — leaving you $840 ahead. Year two onwards, 100% of the savings are yours.
When do I pay?
After we lock in the lower rate, you approve it, and the savings have actually started showing on your bill. We send you an invoice with a card link or ACH option. No payment is collected upfront.
What if you don't save me anything?
Then you pay nothing. That's the entire model. We only get paid when we succeed, so we have no incentive to waste your time or ours.
Are there subscription or monthly fees?
None. No monthly subscription, no annual fee, no membership. You pay our one-time fee from your savings, and that's the only money you ever owe us.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit card, debit card, ACH bank transfer, and PayPal. All payments are processed through Stripe and PayPal — we never see or store your card information directly.
Process & timeline
How long does the whole process take?
Most bills are negotiated within 3 to 7 business days. Mortgages and car loan refinances take longer — typically 2 to 3 weeks because of the lender-side paperwork and underwriting required.
Will my service change?
No. We negotiate the price only. Your internet speed, channels, coverage, plan, equipment, and provider all stay exactly the same. The only thing that changes is what you pay.
Do I need to do anything during the negotiation?
Almost nothing. You may need to verbally authorize us once at the start so the provider knows we're allowed to speak on your behalf. After that, we handle everything until we call you back with the final offer.
What happens when the promo rate expires?
We track every customer's renewal dates automatically. About 30 days before your promo expires, we reach out and offer to renegotiate at no extra charge to you (other than 30% of any new savings we get).
Security & data
Is my data safe?
Yes. We use bank-grade 256-bit encryption, store data on SOC 2-compliant infrastructure, and never share customer information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.
Do I need to give you my account password?
No. We never ask for online account credentials. Everything we need is on your bill — account number, current rate, plan details. Plus a brief verbal authorization to your provider during the negotiation call.
Do you sell my information?
Never. We don't sell or share your data with anyone. Read our
Privacy Policy for the full details. Trust is the whole foundation of our business.
Can I delete my data after?
Yes. Email us at support@billease.com and we'll permanently delete your records, typically within 5 business days. Some financial records we have to keep by law for 7 years, but they're not used for anything else.
Bill-specific questions
Can you refinance my mortgage?
Yes. We work with a network of lenders to find you a better rate, drop PMI, or change your term. Note: we are not a lender ourselves — we facilitate the process and connect you with the right lending partner. Mortgage refinances take 2 to 3 weeks.
Can you refinance my car loan?
Yes, if your loan is over $7,500, the car is under 10 years old, and you've been making on-time payments. We'll shop your loan across multiple credit unions and banks to find a better rate, especially if your credit has improved since the original loan.
What bills can you not negotiate?
Medical bills, student loans, taxes, child support, and most government-related bills. We focus on consumer services where there's actually room to negotiate — i.e., where a competitor exists or retention departments have flexibility.
Do you work with prepaid plans?
Generally no. Prepaid plans (like Mint, Cricket, prepaid electric) are already discount products without retention departments, so there's no leverage to negotiate. We may be able to switch you to a better prepaid option — ask us.
Refunds & cancellation
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There's no contract, no subscription, no commitment. You're free to walk away at any point during a negotiation. If we haven't saved you money yet, you owe nothing.
What if I'm not happy with the new rate?
You don't have to accept it. We'll present the savings, and only if you approve do we make it official with your provider. If you reject, we move on and you owe nothing.
Can I get a refund?
If your provider reverses the negotiated savings within 60 days (which is rare but happens), we will refund our fee 100%. Outside of that, our fee is non-refundable since we've completed the work.
How do I stop future auto-renegotiations?
Email us or call our support line and we'll remove you from the renewal tracking system. You'll keep your current rate; we just won't proactively try to renegotiate when it expires.
